Prior to using the Munetrix IRIP tool it is essential to ensure all required data has been loaded and criteria entered. Use this "pre-launch" checklist each term prior to creating or updating IRIPs.
⏰Estimated Time: 5 minutes
Data Loading
- Estimated Time to complete data loading/updating processes: 1-3 weeks
- Ensure all student/teacher/roster data is up-to-date via API integration or manual import files.
- API Integration - Contact Customer Success Manager if students or teachers are missing.
- Manual Import File - Use the Student and Teacher manual import templates. Export the data from the district student information system to populate the templates. Upload the templates to your Munetrix District Box Folder and notify your Customer Success Manager that they are ready for import.
- For districts with an API integration, upload any missing field data via a manual file export from your student information system. Districts who use API integrations with Munetrix can contact their Munetrix Customer Success Manager for a list of any missing data fields, such as economically disadvantaged.
- Ensure all benchmark assessment data has been uploaded to Munetrix via SFTP integration or manual import files. Benchmark assessments may include NWEA, i-Ready, STAR, DRC, Fastbridge, etc.
- SFTP Integration - Contact your Customer Success Manager once the benchmark testing window is complete to have the data imported into Munetrix from the API/SFTP integration.
- Manual Import File - Export the benchmark assessment data from the benchmark platform and upload the files to your Munetrix District Box Folder. Notify your Customer Success Manager that they are ready for import. Links to step-by-step directions on how to export data for each of the supported benchmark assessments are provided below.
- NWEA MAP Assessment (Manual)
- NWEA MAP Assessment (SFTP)
- Curriculum Associate's i-Ready Assessment (SFTP Only - No Manual Export)
- Renaissance Learning STAR (SFTP Only - No Manual Export)
- Fastbridge aReading Assessment
- DRC Smarter Balance Assessment
- Ensure all early literacy assessment data has been uploaded to Munetrix. Currently early literacy assessment data may only be loaded via manual import. Links to step-by-step directions on how to export data for each of the supported early literacy assessments are provided below.

IRIP Generation
- There are two options for generating IRIPs - manual an automated generation.
- Manual Generation - Teachers and interventionists generate an IRIP for each student by clicking the IRIP tool next to the student's name in the student master list, for each student. No additional preparation is needed for this step, once the data has been loaded.
- Automated Generation - Munetrix auto-generates the IRIP shell with student basic information and assessment data for each student who meets criteria provided by the district - such as cut scores or percentiles.
- Communicate the district criteria for identifying students who will receive an IRIP with your Munetrix Customer Success Manager. They will add the criteria to the Munetrix system. For example, students in grades K-3 who score below 191 on the NWEA MAP reading assessment or students who fall in the 20th percentile and below on the i-Ready reading assessment.
- The Munetrix engineering team will run a script to mass generate IRIPs for students who meet the district provided criteria.
- Teachers and interventionists will still need to fill out the remaining sections of the IRIP with the strategies for differentiating classroom instruction, additional research-based interventions they will use, and progress monitoring plans for each student.
- Please allow at least one week for auto-generation of the IRIPs to occur prior to teachers/interventionists entering data.
Planning and Communication Before Launch
The Munetrix IRIP tool is very flexible and use can be adapted to meet district needs. It is essential that the district provide basic guidance on the requirements for IRIP completion - minimum fields required, whether to use one IRIP for the entire year or one per term, etc. Otherwise, the IRIPs may vary significantly from one teacher or interventionist to the next. Munetrix recommends that districts plan for and communicate the information below to teachers/interventions prior to launching use of the Munetrix IRIP tool.
- Will the district use one IRIP for each student or the entire year or will the district create a new IRIP for each student, after each benchmark assessment term?
- If the district is using one IRIP per student for the entire year, Munetrix recommends entering the date prior to any classroom differentiation, intervention or progress monitoring strategies each time the IRIP is updated.
- If the district is using a new IRIP each term, the IRIP log will need to be filtered by term first to access the correct IRIP, since students will have multiple IRIPs each school year.
- Are there certain fields that will be required by the district to be completed? Will there be other fields that will be option? For consistency, this information must be communicated by the district to the teachers/interventionists completing the IRIP.
- Are there specific district, building, or grade level interventions being used?
- Yes - On the Additional Support (Intervention) page check "Other" under Research-Supported Instructional Strategies. A box will appear. Enter the specific district, building or grade level intervention details.
- No - Do not check the other box, generally speaking. Teachers/interventionists may wish to use this field to list specific interventions they are using not found on the pre-populated list.
- Are there specific Read-At-Home plans or resources that the district, building or grade level is using beyond those listed in the IRIP?
- Yes - On the Parent/Guardian Read at Home page, click Other. Then enter the specific details regarding the Read-At-Home plan or resources into the Other text box.
- No - Do not check the other box, generally speaking. Teachers/interventionists may wish to use this field to list specific interventions they are using not found on the pre-populated list.
- Active Field - We understand that students move around frequently in some districts and/or reading abilities can fluctuate and change frequently. A student may be present in the Fall, move to another district for a few months in the Winter, and then rejoin the district again in early Spring. Or students may be identified for supports in the Fall, demonstrate significant proficiency in the Winter, then show a lack of proficiency on Spring testing moving in and out of intervention groups and supports. Munetrix has added an "Active" field to the IRIPs log. When checked, the IRIP is active. When the checkmark is removed the IRIP is inactive.
- Districts and/or buildings should appoint a specific person to manage activating/deactivating IRIPs and communicate the activation/deactivation expectations and process to teachers and interventionists.
- Munetrix recommends appointing one person at the district or building level to serve as the Munetrix single point of contact for IRIPs. It is most efficient to funnel requests, questions, concerns through the internal point of contact.
